Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2025
1. Introduction
TINKRR ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you or your child use our service. Our practices are designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable laws.
2. COPPA and Children Under 13
Our service is intended for children ages 7 and older, with parent or guardian oversight. For users under 13, we collect personal information only after we have obtained verifiable parental consent. Parents must create an account, confirm they are at least 21 years of age, and agree to our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy before any child account may be created under their account. By adding a child and allowing them to use TINKRR, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian and have given consent for us to collect and use your child's information as described in this policy.
3. Information We Collect
- From parents: Email address, password (hashed), age verification (that you are 21+), and preferences (e.g., session limits, notifications, timezone).
- From children (with your consent): Kid username, optional nickname, age (7–18), optional email, and chat messages and session data generated when using the service. Chat content is stored so parents can view it and we can provide the service.
- Technical data: We may collect device or browser information, IP address, and similar technical data necessary to operate the service and ensure security.
We do not sell children's personal information. We do not use child data for advertising targeting.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to: provide and improve the TINKRR service; enforce session limits and parental settings; allow parents to view their child's chat activity; send parents notifications they have opted into (e.g., daily summary); protect the security and integrity of the service; and comply with law. We do not use child personal information for purposes unrelated to the service or without parental consent as required by COPPA.
5. Parental Rights
Parents may at any time: (a) review the personal information we have collected from their child; (b) request deletion of that information; (c) refuse to allow further collection or use of the child's information (which may require terminating the child's account); and (d) revoke consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond in accordance with COPPA and our internal procedures.
6. Data Security and Retention
We use industry-standard measures to protect personal information (including encryption and secure storage). We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with law, or enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your or your child's data as described above.
7. Third Parties
We use service providers (e.g., hosting, authentication, AI) to operate TINKRR. These providers are bound by contracts that require them to protect personal information and use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties for their marketing.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify parents of material changes that affect children's information (e.g., by email or in-app notice) and, where required by COPPA, obtain renewed consent if we plan to use children's information in a way that requires it.
9. Contact
